Training in knowledge and procedures for growing safe vegetables towards organic production

On July 8 and 9, 2020, at Tuc Dan Commune People's Committee, Tram Tau District, Yen Bai Province, SUDECOM’s Project Management Board (PMB) in coordination with PMB of Tuc Dan Commune organized a training course on knowledge and techniques of growing safe vegetables towards organic production; At the same time, the project staff gave instructions on how to make bio-pesticides for 20 farmers in two villages of Ha Tau and Ta Chu.

SUMMARY CONFERENCE TO EVALUATE AND LEARN EXPERIENCE FROM PROJECT IMPLEMETATION

Center for Sustainable Development of Mountainous Communities (SUDECOM) organised a closing workshop within the framework of the project: “Support to construct a rural road to improve living quality of ethnic minority people in Hung Khanh commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province”

Activity of monitoring coops for chicks

SUDECOM staff and the project management board at the commune level have supervised the coops made by households before delivering chicks to beneficiaries.

Two training courses on techniques of raising garden chicken and prevention diseases for chicken were organized with participation of 40 farmers (including 30 representatives of poor households who participate in the model and 10 farmers who have desire to learn technique and imitate the model) on August 2017

RESULTS OF THE DRAWING COMPETITION "WE PARTICIPATE IN PROTECTION OF CHILDREN’S RIGHTS"

The drawing competition “We participate in protection of children’s rights” is under the project "Encouraging the participation of social organizations, unions and pupils in promoting quality education, preserving culture and ethnic characters in schools" sponsored by the European Union and Save the Children.

Hygienic water supply system improve the quality of life for ethnic minority households in Tan Huong Commune, Yen Binh District, Yen Bai Province.

The clean water supply system built in Khe Gay village, Tan Huong commune, is one of the models for improving the quality of life of ethnic minority communities supported by Bread for the World and implemented by SUDECOM.

SUPPORTING STRAW MUSHROOM CULTIVATION MODEL FOR POOR HOUSEHOLDSIN LUONG THINH COMMUNE

Luong Thinh commune of Tran Yen district has 5 ethnic groups: Kinh, Tay, Nung, Thai and Cao Lan. Per capita income is 7.8 million / person / year.

SUDECOM’s model hornored by VUSTA at “2016 Networking Event for the Cooperation and Development”

SUDECOM is proud of its model named “Firewood saving and non-smoke stove for ethnic minorities in Yen Bai province” being highly honored as the Excellent Sustainable Development Model of 2016 and was selected to introduce in the 2016 Networking Event for The Cooperation and Development held on December 7th 2016 in Hanoi by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA).

Increasing income for poor households belonging to Mong ethnic minority in Suoi Bu commune through backyard chicken keeping

In Suoi Bu commune of Van Chan district, Yen Bai province, 73% of popualtion are Mong people. Most of households had been keeping chickens but according to traditional way with unbridled chickens. Therefore, chickens usually died of dieseases or lost without control. SUDECOM carried out a small project in Suoi Bu commune to support 40 households keep backyard chickens. At that time, this way of chicken keeping was total new to Mong people there.

The road connecting the joys of local people in Ta Chu and Pa Te villages in Tuc Dan commune of Tram Tau district

Tuc Dan commune in Tram Tau district is one of the most difficult communes in Vietnam. The commune has 7 hamlets and 4 ethnic groups living together (Mong people makes up 90%). The rate of poor households in early 2016 is 89.7%. In Ta Chu hamlet, people do not have a chance to see cars in the village at all.
