Financing Partner: Bread for the World and Schmitz – Stiftung Project duration: from 01.03.2019 to 28.02.2022Project areas: Tuc Dan commune – Tram Tau District, Dong Quan commune – Luc Yen District, Yen Bai province.

Overall goal: Contribute to sustainable development of Yen Bai province.

Objectives: The living conditions of ethnic minorities in the two project communes are improved.

Indicators for objectives.

Indicator 1: By the end of the project at least 100 households achieve food security for 11 months, compared to 10 months in 2018.

Indicator 2: By the end of the project, the per capita income per year of at least 70 poor households, increased by 25% compared to the baseline in 2018.

Indicator 3: By the end of the project, the water-related diseases in the four project villages decreased by 20% compared to 2018.

Target groups

Direct target groups:

1. Up to 1,900 people belong to 400 households in 4 project villages, in which 50% are women, mainly of H'mong and Dzao ethnic minorities, and a smaller number of Khmu;

2. Up to 40 members of 3 Project Management Units at communal level, consisting of representatives of farmers, the agricultural extension services, the health department, the People's Committee, village authorities, Women's Union.

Indirect target groups:

Approximately 8,500 people of 1,800 households, accounting for 85% of the total population of the two project communes.
