Project Support for developing model of growing safe vegetable to improve income contributing on poverty reduction for poor ethnic minority households at Tan Nguyen commune, Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province.

The project introduction workshop was organized with participation of 40 people who are members of Project Management Board and beneficiaries.
100% of participants attended the workshop right as requirement. At the workshop, the participant heard the project summary, work plan and operational regulations were approved.

 Organizing 2 training courses on techniques of safe vegetable cultivation, and pest and disease control for 40 farmers.

The project organized 2 training courses on techniques of safe vegetable cultivation, and pest and disease control for 40 householdsā€˜ representatives who received the project model. 30 households registered to implement the model of safe vegetable cultivation and 10 households to learn to follow. Participants have improved their knowledge and skills in planting and pest control.
Training methods: modeling, guiding practice is the main, and learner-centered, using visual aids such as seeds of water spinach, pot-herbs, malabar nightshade, Chinese pea; fertilizers to guide the planting practice.
After having been trained, 90% of the representatives of households have a thorough grasp of the knowledge and techniques of cultivation, care and prevention of diseases for vegetables; 85% of benefited households have applied the correct process and techniques.

    Supports vegetable seeds, bio-fertilizers, bio-pesticides, sprayers and arrosoirs:

The project has delivered vegetable seeds to produce vegetables for farmers in summer-autumn crop, including: spinach, red jute vegetable, malabar nightshade, cowpea, heat cucumber.

The project has also provided various types of fertilizers: micro-organism, protein, phosphorus, potassium, bio-spray irrigation leaf to ensure the quantity and quality required by the project.
The project provided 30 sprayers to spray plant protection products and 30 arrosoirs to water the plant for 30 households participating in the project.
